February 2012 NSE ‘Collector’ Auction!

Notes and Comments on our January auction…

NSE Author Cars! For the first time ever we are offering several NSE Author cars to our Members.  We have only seen one or maybe two listed ever so this is a special happening! The proceeds from the sale of these Author cars benefit the NSE Special Run Program headed by our most favorite, Fred Hoxsie!  We have five different Author cars and they will be listed in the next five consecutive auctions.  Although there is a minimum starting bid, there is no BIN bid on these so everyone can have a chance to win one or more as they appear.  In some Private Sales, these very limited edition cars have sold for in excess of $300.00!

Many New MTL Cars! Also new on this list are many Micro-Trains items that have not been offered for many years!  And most of the starting prices are less than 50% of what they used to be so we should see some real action and lots of BIN bids.

Buy It Now is the BEST way to go! (It works!)
We continue to offer a new feature to our NSE auctions…Buy it Now!
Instead of bidding on an item and not sure if you will get it, our new Buy It Now (BIN) lets participants pay a “fixed” BIN price and purchase the item outright.

Here’s how “Buy It Now” on our NSE auctions…
After we post our auction lists, members can submit their bids until the closing date as in the past. However, besides a “minimum bid” amount, there now is also a “Buy It Now” (BIN) price posted next to each listed item.  Once someone submits a BIN bid, the item is sold to that bidder.  We will confirm all BIN purchases via email.

We will be updating the auction list with any BIN purchases at least once before the auction closes.  But in keeping with our long-standing blind-auction policy we will NOT be posting any regular bids until the auction closes.  By updating the list with the BIN purchases, Members will have a much better idea of what items are still “open game” on the lists.  If you have any further questions concerning our Buy It Now option, please send us an email.

ONLY 10 Days to Bid!
There is no need to run our auctions for long periods of time.  Instead, we are shortening the time that an auction is ”live” to get onto the next list.  While this is the shortest time we are keeping an auction open, there is plenty of time for our Members to submit their bids.

Finally, please make sure that your credit card data is up to date with us here at Auctions.  It saves us a lot of time when we close an auction IF we do not have to contact Members for updated CC info…thanks!
